Keeping Safe Distance

WE often hear traffic accidents involving large vehicles (fender bender). Both among fellow bikers, fellow car or between cars and motorcycles.

Traffic accidents were caused by many factors. Could be due to the distance between vehicles that are too close, tension brake or no grip, or lack of caution and ketidakwaspadaan rider and driver.

From all that, keeping the distance between the vehicle becomes very important part. Because, by keeping a safe distance between vehicles in front and behind, then the risk of an accident, as much as possible be avoided.

Safe distance is the distance that must be taken by the driver behind the vehicle in front, so that riders can still anticipate the event of an abrupt nature of things, without endangering other road users.

Maintain a safe distance is very important to avoid the danger of an accident or fender bender. Then, how safe distance that must be considered by motorcyclists and car drivers?

Safe distance to be taken, depending on the condition of the vehicle or the road situation itself, eg state of drizzle which lead to more slippery roads. As a simple guideline to pick a safe distance can be seen from the speed of vehicles that are running.

For example, if the vehicle is running with a speed of 70 kilometers per hour, then the safe distance that should be taken at least is 70 meters. Likewise, if the speed of 100 kilometers per hour, the distance to be maintained is 100 meters.

Then how to cope with accidents that could have been avoided? If you want to change lanes, make sure the distance behind and in front of the state is completely safe. Turn signal light, move at the right time with no cut motion.
