DNS Server


Domain Name System adalah suatu metode untuk meng-konversikan Ip Address (numerik) suatu komputer ke dalam suatu nama domain (alphabetic), ataupun sebaliknya. Yang memudahkan kita dalam mengingat computer tersebut.  Misalnya, server Debian memiliki alamat Ip Address sekian, namun pada umumnya, orang tidak akan mudah mengingat alamat Ip dalam bentuk numerik tersebut. Dengan adanya DNS Server, kita bisa mengakses halaman situs dari server Debian tersebut hanya dengan mengakses nama Domain-nya (www.debian.edu), tanpa mengingat Ip Address dari computer tersebut

Konfigurasi Ip Address

Semua peralatan yang terhubung ke jaringan computer, membutuhkan alamat khusus yang disebut Ip Address. Agar semua peralatan tersebut dapat berhubungan satu sama lain. Oleh sebab itu, Network Interface Card tidak akan berarti apa-apa, jika Ip Address pada interface tersebut tidak diset terlebih dahulu.  
Memberi Ip Address pada linux debian tidaklah sulit. Untuk cara cepatnya, gunakan perintah singkat dibawah ini.  

server:/home/aditya# ifconfig eth0 192.168.10.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 up

Mengaktifkan Ethernet

Network Interface Card (NIC) atau Ethernet di linux diberi nama etho, eth1, eth2, dst. Dan untuk interface Local Loopback diberi nama lo. Untuk mengetahui interface apa saja yang terpasang pada server Debian, gunakan perintah ifconfig berikut.

ETHERNET


   Ethernet is a networking system that created and patented the company Xerox. Ethernet is an implementation method CSMA / CD (Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detection) which was developed in 1960 at ALOHA wireless project at the University of Hawaii over coaxial cable. Standardization of Ethernet systems conducted since 1978 by the IEEE. (see Table 2.) Speed ​​of data transmission in ethernet to date is 10 to 100 Mbps. When the market in general is the speed of 10 Mbps ethernet is commonly called 10Base series. There are various types of 10Base include: 10Base5, 10Base2, 10BaseT, and 10Base-F which will be explained further later

Topology COMPUTER NETWORK

Topology is a way of connecting one computer to another computer so that form a network. Way that is currently widely used is the bus, token-ring, star and peer-to-peer network. Each has a characteristic topology, with its own advantages and drawbacks.

OSI REFERENCE MODEL AND standardization


To organize a variety of computer vendor communications needed a rule that standards and disetejui various parties. Just as two people of different nations, the need to communicate translator / interpreter or a language understood by both parties. In the world of computers and telecommunications is identical to the protocol interpreter. For that the world body to deal with the standardization of the ISO (International Standardization Organization) make the rule known as the OSI reference model (Open Systems Interconnection). It is hoped all vendors of telecommunications equipment must be guided by this reference model in developing the protocol.

TYPES OF COMPUTER NETWORKS

In general, a computer network is divided into five types, namely;1. Local Area Network (LAN)Local Area Network (LAN), a privately owned network within a building or campus-sized to several kilometers. LANs are often used to connect personal computers and workstations in a corporate office or factories in order to use shared resources (eg printers) and exchange information.

HISTORY OF COMPUTER NETWORKS


The concept of computer network born in the 1940s in America of a development project in the laboratory computer MODEL I Bell and Harvard University research group led by professor H. Aiken. At first the project was to utilize a computer device that must be used together. To do multiple processes without wasting lots of time was made vacant succession process (batch processing), so some programs can be run in a computer with the rules of the queue.

DHCP memperbolehkan client dalam sebuah network mendapatkan ip dan parameter - parameter lainnya seperti gateway, DNS server, dan WINS server secara otomatis dari DHCP server.

LANGKAH – LANGKAH PENGECEKAN MELALUI WINDOWS

1.Langkah pertama yang harus anda lakukan adalah mensetting IP Address di windows, Ip Address yang di masukan harus satu jaringan dengan Ip Address yang di buat di Linux Ubuntu.


LANGKAH – LANGKAH SETTING ETHERNET CARD

Edit file /etc/network/interfaces, disini saya mengunakan vim

# vim/etc/network/interfaces

Sebelumnya tentukan dahulu IPv4 untuk kartu jaringan eth0, misal
address 10.67.192.1
netmask 255.255.255.0
network 10.67.192.0
broadcast 10.67.192.255

LANGKAH – LANGKAH LOGIN

1.Lakukan login.
2.Kemudian masuk ke root, kemudian masukan password:

server@3tkj3:~$ sudosu
